Trail System
Looking for outdoor enjoyment? The first village in Otay Ranch is planned to include trail and bike systems to connect residential areas with the village activity center (planned to include a 10-acre City of Chula Vista amenitized park, school site and future shopping). As Otay Ranch grows, the pedestrian corridors are designed to link with trails that access adjacent villages, a regionwide trail system and ultimately to a vast 11,375-acre nature preserve, the largest of its kind in San Diego County. The preserve will protect sensitive habitats, special land form and wildlife corridors and provide outstanding recreational opportunities. Otay Ranch trails are also planned to eventually connect with the Chula Vista Greenbelt System that links South San Diego Bay to the eastern portions of Chula Vista.
