East Palomar Street/Trolley Line East Palomar Street is planned as the "Main Street" for the first village of Otay Ranch. The street has been designed to lead to a 10-acre City of Chula Vista neighborhood park and future retail centers and community services. It is also the designated transit corridor for future expansion of the San Diego light rail transit system. Future trolley stops (bus stops on an interim basis) are planned to be within easy walking distance of more than 60 percent of the homes in the first village. Reflecting the community's agrarian theme, East Palomar is planned to be landscaped with Bradford pear trees alternating with Mexican fan palms, combining the dramatic California lifestyle appeal of palms from a distance with a shady canopy for pedestrians.
